And honestly, if you need instructions in pictures to figure something out, maybe you should hire a handyman. There's nothing wrong with this tool. And mine came with 4 Wingnuts, no screwdriver or hex head socket required. I actually find it quite easy to use. And as far as paint brushes, I have several Shur-line and Purdy brushes which fit it just fine.

Never used a ladder.
Had a little painting job to do at home. 18ft ceiling and I never used a ladder. With a bit of patience, I was able to complete it.

It's safer than using a ladder for many things that are beyond my reach.

Serviceable.
Did the job to paint heretofore inaccessible high places of the shed. Use the extra bolt hole to steady the brush.

Saved my neck.
Used this to stain the outside of the third floor balcony. Provided just enough reach to save me from having to climb 40 feet up a ladder. Had no problems angling it and holding the brush.

Show Moremy 32 ft extension ladder. I tried to hire a contractor to paint it using a 40 ft ladder and $800 was the cheapest and only price I received. The contractor never showed up by the end of Nov. so I decided to deal with the problem myself. I was able to use the Mr. Longarm brush holder on the end of a light weight aluminum broom handle to paint the un-reachable area. The most difficult task was to cut in the line between the roof trim molding & building wall shingles. It took pretty much a half day to finish two coats on both surfaces. I had no trouble with the plastic wing nuts that are supplied with the unit even though there were several reviews that indicated that this was a weakness of this well-designed tool. I even went to the extent to buy metal wing nuts in advance to replace the plastic ones but never used them. Mr. Longarm held the brush firmly and did not permit the brush to move at all. The bolt that runs through the brush handle was instrumental in keeping the brush from moving at all. Work proceeded slowly but was worth every $ of Mr. Longarm's reasonable price. I didn't use the other devices I bought for this job since Mr. Longarm performed so well. I returned the other items and saved $800 to boot. I will use this system again to paint the north peak next year.
