Welcome to January!
The new year is a great time to get organized and that can help you keep your other resolutions. We’d like to offer some ideas as well as some great product finds to help you finish up your organizational goals. Organization is about designing systems and spaces that make you more efficient by streamlining everyday tasks.
Make a list to help you get and stay organized
Start with a list of tasks that you want to improve upon. For example, getting ready each day, cooking, cleaning, doing lawn care or doing laundry. Now consider the spaces where you do each of the tasks on your list and how you could improve them. Start with one space at a time so you don’t get overwhelmed and be sure to schedule the time you need. It could take you several months depending on your list, but I guarantee it will be worth it.
The best place to start is at the beginning
When organizing, start with the smallest area you spend the most time in, because you will feel the benefits daily. For most of us that means the place where you begin each day. If you can organize your closet, cosmetics, shoes, jewelry, etc. you’ll be able to start each day with more time, energy and a greater sense of control.
You don’t necessarily need an expensive closet organization system but if you already have one that’s awesome! Just make sure it’s decluttered so it works well for you. If you don’t have one there are some great alternatives like this full-length mirror with storage for shoes, purses, jewelry and cosmetics. It’s great for small spaces as it has a small footprint and is packed with plenty of storage.

A functional kitchen should be well-organized
Keeping everything in your kitchen neat and organized will make cooking much more enjoyable. Pots and pans can be difficult to organize inside your cabinets. We found this great organizer that is adjustable and offers 3 different set up methods as well as 3 different sizes. There are so many great organizational ideas for the kitchen, but we thought this one stood out the most.
Keep long-handled cleaning and lawn care tools organized and out-of-your-way
Brooms, mops, dusters, swiffers, window cleaning tools, painting tools and rakes can be unwieldy. Whether you keep these items in your garage, utility closet, barn or garden shed we have the perfect free-standing solution for them. The tool storage rack is compact and holds 24 tools with a handle diameter of 1.375″ or less. Its sturdy design is easy to assemble in a minute or less and it’s available in yellow, blue or black.
Is your laundry room more like a laundry closet?
I know mine is, but this great little cart can help with additional storage and its on casters so you can pull it out to access the shelves. Available in 2 sizes, this cart could also add additional storage in a kitchen or small bathroom.
These are just a few examples of the awesome products available to help you get organized this year. Now it’s time to determine your needs, then search on-line and find the products and ideas that can help. There are also some great DIY projects out there so have fun with it and happy organizing!
